Wave Drinks is owned by a stay-at-home mom turned entrepreneur, Celeste. When her kids became teenagers, Celeste realized she had a little more time on her hands and wanted to do something to help in her own community. There weren’t a lot of “fun” places to go with kids at the time, and she
noticed a big niche in the surrounding states with soda shops. She also liked the idea of opening a business that could help teens and young adults in their first job by giving them the tools and experience to become great workers as they progressed in life.
 

She opened her first soda shop in the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, in the amazing little town of Fruita, Colorado. The menu included customized, mixed sodas; jumbo pretzels; big, soft, homemade cookies; and popcorn…all through the drive thru. It also had mixers with energy drinks. She also added
water refresher that added flavors to water. She made the water refreshers available in both sparkling water and regular water varieties.

The unique thing about Wave is that you don’t have to get out of your car, like you would at a convenience store. You just pull up, order your favorite drink, and you are on your way.

 

There is a huge selection of over 25 sodas along with over 40 flavor shots you can add to them. There are also 5 fruit
purees and 3 different flavors of creams to make it even better.
In 2020, word spread about the unique shop, and people from all over the valley would come and wait in the long line to get their soda fix. Wave was able to grow quickly through word of mouth and social media. Most residents had never heard of a soda with “mix-ins” since the concept was new to Colorado. Wave was able to open a second location, near Colorado Mesa University, just one year after the original, in 2021. 

 

Celeste wanted to keep the vibe of Wave Drinks local. Many of the names of the specialty drinks are connected to local mountain biking trails and local destinations. She also incorporated pop culture and classic cocktails into the mix. She wanted it to be family friendly, so there is a dedicated kid’s drink menu that features drinks with whipped cream, gummy candies and more to add to their delight. They also have the good, pebble ice in every drink! They strive to give the customer not only an eclectic variety of ice-cold soft drinks, but to create an
experience for the customer. Wave hires the friendliest and most optimistic people they can find to add to the enjoyable visit.
